Tron 2.0 Resolution Fix?

on Tuesday, December, 19, 2006 9:06 PM
I recently got a 21" monitor, and the first thing I did was boot up Tron 2.0 to see how it would look/play.

How disappointed I was to learn that my resolution is NOT supported!

In fact, I couldn't even get 1600x1200 for some reason. The option simply was not there. The game doesn't look too good on any res smaller than 16x12.

Does anyone know how to fix this? CAN it be fixed? There are configuration files in the Tron 2.0 folder but I'm not sure how to edit them.

If someone knows how to fix this, you'll go down in history as a legend. A Gawd amongst infants. At least in MY book...

Thanks guys!

Do you post messages in the GameFAQs forum, by any chance? If not, this is just an interesting coincidence. I answered the same question there recently.

This really should have gone in the Tron 2.0 message area instead of here (unfortunately I can't move it), but anyway . . .

Yes, it's possible to force unsupported resolutions. The game only "officially" supports 1024x768, but you can go higher. I don't know what the limit is, though. I know for a fact that 1280x960 and 1280x1024 work. You'll have to try to see if an even higher resolution works. I don't have a monitor that big to test with.

Visit this page, and scroll down to where it talks about using higher resolutions:

Nope, haven't been to GameFaqs in a long time. Thanks for the information.

I've tried this resolution fix but for whatever reason the game didn't like me trying to force it into a weird resolution.

This is a DAMN shame 'cause it's the prettiest game I've ever owned. It would've looked friggin' beautiful @ 1680x1050!
