Wow, 10.000 $, but if it is from the original film is evident.
It's really beautiful, I want it! But I'd have to steal it, I can't pay for it

How can you tell, though, if it's REALLY from the film? It's not like there aren't a ton of reference pictures, to make your own. $10K seems like a pretty major gamble.

There's really no way to be 100% certain of the authenticity of the piece, but that doesn't matter now. Now that Profiles In History is brokering the piece it will be forever tied to them, and that's really all the provenance the piece needs in the eyes of most prop collectors. It's also quite possible that this costume, or parts of it, came from the Disney auctions back in 2002 so there may be a Disney COA with it. Granted COA's aren't really worth the paper they are printed on, but they give some people that warm and fuzzy feeling.
As far as the price goes, I'd say that 10K is about right. If it could be proven that Bruce actually wore that jumpsuit in a scene, then I think 10K would be a bargain. There's also an 18% buyers fee to be paid on the final ending price so even if you won it for the opening bid of 10K, you would still have to pay $11,800 for it .
Keep in mind that the last suit Profiles sold (March 31, 2006) was simply an "Elder's tunic with boots" and it closed for $5000! It's a shame that this suit is surfacing now. The wife and I are currently house shopping and she would murder me if I put in a bid ;^). Asi es la vida....

Yeah, but then you could haunt her as a ghost in a Tron costume. How cool would that be?

Hmm - I'd say that's pretty damn cool.
So... put in a bit, TimothyC. Nothing to worry about now. Hell, I just want to see the GhostTRON photos!

Anyone stupid enough to shell out $10,000 for this deserves to be ripped off. Still, some poor fool with money to burn will go in for it. Unreal.

@Red5 (Barry?) -- You've basically insulted the buyer of every Tron costume prop that's been posted here over the last year or so. We get it already, you don't collect props and don't see them as something of value.
Seriously, your posts in these threads only show how little you know about prop collecting. Everyone has an opinion, but I just don't understand why you feel the need to insult the buyer, or potential buyers, in every prop related thread? Whether it's a $2000 auction or a $10K one, you've always got something negative to say.
Please don't misconstrue this as a personal attack, it's certainly not. I'm just letting you know publicly that we officially realize you just don't understand props and the prop market .
Cheers!

No worries, man.
There was no offence intended. But they're my thoughts: take 'em as you see fit.

If they have the money to burn, as you say, why would the purchase be foolish? A good friend of mine who owns three restaurants regularly purchases original Frazetta art through auctions like this. Due to his spending habits and generosity, I have a $7000 original hanging on my wall. Was his purchase foolish? It didn't impact his ability to own two houses or three very nice cars. It did not impact him in any way shape or form. Value is relative to income. And let's be realistic, you can't take it with you.
Is everything you own functional and practical? If not, I would think your words a bit hypocritical.

Sorry, I'll make myself a bit clearer. I personally believe that $10,000 is too much money for some lycra pants that got a few seconds (perhaps a couple of minutes' screentime?) within the movie. Therefore, I also believe anyone who spends that amount of money on it, is, stupid. As I say, no offence. It's just what I think.

If you have 100000000000000000000$, 10.000$ isn't too much , so if one stupid rich pays for it, it's probably normal.

I bid on it. Starting bid was $10K. It was expected to go for $10-12K. I bid $13K. It went for $30K.
Red5: Hang it in your ear. I'd have happily paid for that costume, because it is something that is truly unique from the film. Just because you personally wouldn't pay that much does not make it at all a bad purchase for someone else.
I'll keep looking, and one of these days, I'll wind up with an original costume from the movie...on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

Greetings, SolarTiger and welcome to TRON-Sector!
Yeah - that's quite a good price it fetched, huh? I've never even owned a car that cost that much new!
But I got to say, I might have paid that price myself for an actual TRON costume... well, if I had that kind of money just sitting around and all.
A couple of threads you may want to hit are:

And...
Don't forget to PING in every time you have yourself Another dose of TRON
I think you'll enjoy your time here at The Sector
EDIT: Ahh - Earth Worm Jim. Whew! That was going to bother me! I'm referring to the use of the phrase "great googly-moogly". I had to look it up and found that it had been used in many works of entertainment that I was familiar with, but none of the listed ones were of the sound byte I can hear playing in my head. I just remembered it though. The phrase was used by Earth Worm Jim himself in Earth Worm Jim 3D. Not the strongest of the series, but a decent game... at least it was really weird and I enjoyed it on that level.

Wow, now that's a hefty price tag! $30K?? I guess my hopes of owning a costume from the movie some day are slowly disappearing before my eyes
I swear I've seen that picture before -- of the guy standing with the Tron costume on. I could be wrong, but could it be a recycled pic from the last time the suit was on auction a few years back (assuming it was)?
Jay Maynard - I wish you could've won that suit.
I wonder who won it? Maybe Lisberger? Maybe he's going to make another Tron-like movie? (dreaming, of course) Anyways, I wonder if it was for a business or museum, or rather for someone's private collection.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I thought at one time that $30k would have been insanity incarnate. However, I saw a Star Trek auction show on cable (forget the channel) where people were bidding hundreds of thousands on ST and STTNG stuff.
So... 30k?.. *shrugs*
