Capt_Capacitor, your link wasn't working properly so I fixed it.
As for the story with the PS3, these people are insane. It's a freaking $700 console, not food and water rations. It's the same with the people who camped out for a month before any of the new Star Wars films.
Don't get me wrong, I love Star Wars as much as the next person. (Or at least I did anyway, before Lucas ruined it.) But I'm not crazy enough to camp out for a month just so I can see it first. There are much better things I could be doing with my time.
I'd bet a fair number of these people camped out just because they intended to re-sell it at a higher price. Human greed at its finest.

My fiance didn't have to camp for his, but of course he came in really early for his preorder reservation (to make it when they first did it and to pick it up.)
He stayed behind for a few hours at the store to make sure no one was getting hurt by the crazy. It was actually quite organized and normal here.

OK. So someone I "know" has a PS3.What launch titles or console features are worth going through so much to have the console? I'm not being an ass here, I am just generally curious as I have not heard anything about the PS3 games.... only the PS3 itself and how people are killing to get it.

It's about the games that will come out for it. Silver already picked up Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Resistance... both are really good.
Just that launch date consoles really need more games than just like, a handful. =/ I suppose that's the problem when the marketers push it earlier before it's ready.
Still wanting MGS4...

One word. Christmas.
EDT: I should explain this somewhat.
Why Christmas? Well.. Shareholders in a company care only about stock worth. If you can inflate or ensure sales by limiting supply in a crucial buying time, you've made your sales target and can guarantee or even boost your stock worth. All these "toy" crises come during Christmas... the PS2 crisis was at the same exact time.
It's all orchestrated to ensure that the companies that make these products actually sell what they want to sell. No more... no less.

Right, I forgot about Christmas. I'm just too busy to even think about holidays, doh.
I'm not getting either PS3 or Wii until the whole craziness simmers down because I'm not really in the mood to have to get in a line and get sucked into a fight. (That probablity is low, but I do not wish to repeat the Beanie Baby incident-- I got one and a woman tried to grab it, screaming and cursing at me. Of course, I couldn't hear her but her daughter was so scared of her and tried to get her to go away.)

Same here....it's just not worth for a video game. Or anything, really. I'm just gonna kick back and wait till the hype dies down, and the price hopefully drops.

I don't know what's worse. The fact that some people are low enough to sell this kinds stuff on eBay for ridiculous prices, or the fact that buyers are stupid enough to pay the ridiculous prices.

I'd say the latter.
Maybe I'm just tool old to get it... but what the hell?
It's JUST A FRICKIN' VIDEO GAME CONSOLE!!!!
I have to admit - all the hype about this generation gaming consoles has me thoroughly turned off. I don't want ANY of them. I could give a crap! (and I love video games, btw)
The world is going mad, MAD I tell ya!
...
Ok, so I went mad a long time ago myself, BUT at least it wasn't over a stupid gaming console! Sheesh!

Hey Kia...
I understand that with the PS3 you can download PSOne games and transfer them to your PSP to play. Have you tried that out yet?

...what? o_o
That's something I have to ask Silver about. o_o Playing Xenogears on my PSP = would have me so hysterically happy, it'd take five people to hold me down before I try to buy a PS3 off of ebay. (Nah, I can always steal Silver's PS3.)
Joking aside, I'm going to definitely investigate this. Silver does have his own PSP as well (he got our PSPs at launch)... they might not have much up there yet.
Also, as far as I know, the only PSX game that was actually released for PSP was Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. X_x (Without having to download it via PS3 or anything.)
Still, this is worth looking into. Wow.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill
