Ok, now I *know* you're not supposed to open spam email, cuz that usually means you're gonna get even MORE of the crap. But lately, they've just been TOO DAMN FUNNY!

Spammers don't come across as smart, but they are sneaky little devils. I only entered my old email once on a free iPod thing and I have 200 spam a day on that email now. You enter your email once, and it spreads like fire in california.

Yeah, they'll usually include a paragraph or two of 'legit' text to fool certain spam filters. This method of circumventing the language filter, by hiding everything in an image, has become the method of choice for most spammers. Does anyone know of an add on/patch for outlook that will take care of this problem? I don't think outlook has the ability to act like OCR software and scan pictures for text. If it did, I doubt I would have half the mail reaching my inbox as I do now.

The sad reality is that they don't have to be smart. As long as 1 in 1000 open that e-mail they'll make money. Sad but true...

You know - it seems that more and more spammers are from non-English speaking countries and their WHOLE game is to simply either use an English translator, that totally butchers their message and makes it obvious they don't understand the language. Or, in this case, they just grab text from English this or that (or maybe a little of both) and paste that in.

I can't believe their are still suckers who open these very obvious e-mails (for any other purpose that to laugh about them). Even more, I can't believe there are people who BUY things from these shady tactics!

Anyone who tries to get me to open an e-mail under false pretence or to trick me in to opening an e-mail by masquerading it as correspondence from an old friend will NEVER get my business. But the thing is I haven't been fooled by a single SPAM in several years and don't open them. I just LOVE clicking my "junk mail" or "spam" buttons in my e-mails! Hmm... that's kind of sad... that I love that so much. I really need to get a life.
