Guys, I know some of you must know this. Ive just obtained the correct cooper helmet and seriously want to begin work on a screen used type helmet. Does anyone know how they created the extra bits on the helmet i.e. the material they used?

Here are some shots of Flynn’s helmet from the Making Of Tron special feature on the 20th anniversary DVD:
If you do not have this DVD I strongly suggest getting it. It's JAM (and I do mean jam!) packed with extra goodies, promotional pics, behind the scenes, interviews, etc and will give you all the shots of all the different kinds of helmets you could possibly want.

Those images Boingo_Buzzard posted should be most helpful. Of course, like he also said - getting the DVD (if you do not yet have it) would be a big help and offer hundreds of high resolution images of the helmet (by pausing the film or doing screen caps).
I'm sure DaveTRON can shed some light on the kinds of materials used in the helmets. I'd give him a chance to chime in on that.

Thanks guys, actually I got the dvd before I even had a dvd player! great shots,!!!

The markings on the helmet, from what I could tell looking at one up close, were made by applying black circuit board layout stickers to the helmet.
