Nothing's leaked, Qix. They were released a while back. I first saw TROOPs back in the mid-1990s roughly. And IMPS was released a year or two ago. My understanding is that they are just Star Wars fans having fun making these videos; albeit, very high quality vids.
More clarification from the IMPS site's General FAQ:

I'm surprised that I never heard of it till now. I thought they were test films for the TV show... Still, an awesome video.... Very awesome.
