Weekend

on Saturday, June, 24, 2006 10:09 PM
Today I went to the GoodGuys car show in Nashville today with my Dad and had a blast. Classic cars of all eras where parked out for everyone to see. This is the biggest carshow I've ever been to. How big was it? I took 451 freakin' photos, and that wasn't even half the cars we saw there! There where some amazing autos there. One car that was a pure treat for me to see was a 1961 Chrysler Imperial, which someone was selling! Oh this chromed finned bodied beautie had me drooling with it's freestanding headlights, blaster taillights, and it's classic Chrysler push-button transmisson option of pure George Jetson fansy. Push-Button trans rocks your socks! 1950's automotive style was all about strutting it at the turn pike baby! First time I've actually seen a 61 Imperial at a carshow up close. Oh man, Exner you could design dude!

Whew what a rush... I'm sorry my Moparism is showing yet again.

There was so many cars there. Caddies, Nashes, Studebakers, Fords, Willies, Mopars, and rusties, yes the ever classic rust-rod which shows it's full rough life to the world in utter rustified glory. Come on, rusties are cool! You know deep down you have a secret love for the rust-rod. Admit it.

Also went to a big flea-market event also at Nashville. I now have original Boston record albums "Don't Look Back and "Third Stage." Dude I've always loved the album art and to now own original ablums is so sweet! The blue print of the boston ship on the record envelop in the "Don't Look Back" album is KILLER! Also bought an an original "The Art of The Empire Strikes Back" book! All half off cause the event was getting near closing time. The Boston albums are great condition and look like they have barely been played! The artwork is so sweet! I'm happy! It's all pure inspiration to me!

Ooo are you feelin' satisfied, come on let us give your mind a ride!

EDIT: Okay, just downloaded my photos and the Imperial wasn't for sale. I didn't catch that the For Sale sign on the window of the Imperial was for a Chevy Nova. I thought the Imperial was for sale, which to me is rather unbelievable that someone would want to sell such a beautie of a car.

Yeah, that is a sweet Chrysler. You're lucky to have had the opportunty to see in in person. Too bad you didn't have the dough to buy it!

Congrats on the flea market scores, you got some neat stuff!

lol... I'm not a huge car fan either... Unless I'm looking for a car to buy... or the General Lee... I'm too much of a geek and never had that much of an interest in cars other than the ones I own....

It's a sad life... lol...

Man I love cars.

If I hit the lottery and buy a mansion, instead of expansive art hanging on my wall, I'd have a huge garage filled with classic American cars.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Or at least a y2k jetbike for that matter. Which reminds me I have to check that lottery ticket here. it was for the 20 million over here. I never bothered to check to see if I had won or not.

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

Hey, if I'm going to go for something turbine-powered then I'm getting a twin-turbine Bell 430. It's kind of like having my own Airwolf!

I'd be the same way if I hit it rich. But allas, being a student right now I'm humble with a few photos and mabey a Johny Lightning or two.

It's neat to go to the cars shows and even meet the people that own the vehicles at show. Very intersting personalities. One area that was awsome, which I now wished I had taken photos, was the swapmeet. One booth has tons of original owners manuals and factory ads from all eras. I LOVED seeing the Forward Look ads and there where some tempting classic illustrated 50's car manuals I would loved to have, but being a student, I can't shell out tons of dough for some things. I can wait though.

One vendor had a real traffic light and parking meter for sale. Oh man, just think of the pranks one could have with that on a campus. Hmmmm, the parking meter could help me out with tuition.

Ooo a real traffic light! I've always wanted one of those, especially since I saw that Mr. Rogers had one in his house.

Good to know I'm not the only Mopar nut around here :^). I've been to loads of vintage Volkswagen shows but I haven't made it to a GoodGuys show yet. I drove a '66 Belvedere II with a 318 for quite a while. Granted it's hardly a muscle car, but it was mint with the original paint and a pretty cool ride for a youngster. I've always dreamed of owning a super bee with a 383, but sadly I don't see that happening any time soon. One day though ...

Yes a fellow Mopar nut here at the sector!

Nice a 66 Belvedere II.

Superbee, sweetness! The cartoon bee character is one of my favorite muscle car mascots.

I used to own a red 1986 Plymouth Tourismo Duster. Maybe not exactly the pinnacle of Chrysler design, but a Mopar nonetheless!
