The Colecovision was the 2nd game system I owned before buying a Commodore 64 way back then. The games looked so much like their arcade counterparts that I just fell in love with that machine. I was still playing that old system well after the game market crashed and then stuck to computer gaming till Nintendo revived and saved the market. Then the Genesis (my last console)... Then the Amiga Computer...
ahh... the memories....

A buddy of mine had a Colecovision. It was the coolest console of the time, bar none. Ironically, it was also the hottest, reaching reactor-meltdown temperatures after an hour or so of play, resulting in massive graphics glitches. The only thing you could do was shut it off and wait for it to cool down.

Hmmm.
Two quickies that come to mind, as not to derail the topic...
Lost in Space. It was just a fun campy show. Jupiter 2 is the ultimate space family camper in my humble opinion. My dream is to get a real B-9 Robot in the distant future.
I also remember Galaxy High, liking the whole school in space concept, plus the intro music stays with ya.
Back to Electric Company...
I probally saw the show when I young, but just don't remember it, though I did a youtube search and the intro music sounds so darn familiar. |
After watching that B-9 video, I'm going to have nightmares about legions of evil B-9 robots taking over the world. Cripes!
I like the B-9, but given a choice it's Robbie hands down. Remember the Adam computer that went with it. I don't remember if it was ever attached to it. I know the intellivision was attached to it. ANd used the ROm Cartridge as well with the 4k of ram that was in there.

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!
To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

It's funny, but I heard that a lot of people noticed heat issues from both the Colecovision and the Adam, but ours never gave us any problems.
Back in the Genesis and Turbo Gfx 16 (a.k.a. PC engine) days, I was able to rent a TG16 and noticed that it had a strange heat issue, but this could have just been that system. The games for it were ok (I did like Dungen Explorer) but I sided with Genesis. I still play both consoles through the power of emulation.

Man, that Colecovision was the Devil's own. You could fry eggs on that thing after about an hour; it was really crazy.

I love them both. So hard to choose for me.
Course I love me some robots. You should see my collection.
Robbie is the pinicle of what Robots hopefuly will become, and B-9 Robot... come on, how can you not love his cool bubble-headed personality? They are basically brothers since they where created by the same designer. The way I see it, at a party Robbie would be mixing and serving drinks as B-9 breaks it down as a DJ. Ultimate dream would be to have both a lifesize Robbie and a B-9 Robot. Until then I'm happy with a little toy. Don't have a Robbie figure though. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue_bezel/ |

Wow... I really got to stop skimming posts...
Galaxy High was a really cool show. I didn't get the chance to watch it as much, but I do remember watching several episodes. Another example of a fun show.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Oh, don't misunderstand me; I think B-9 is extremely cool but Robbie will always hold a special place in my cold, analytical, life-fluid pumping mechanism.
Did you ever see the episode of Lost in Space that featured Robbie as an evil alien robot vs. B-9? It was very cool to see both robot legends on screen together.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill "We are, after all, not God." - Cmdr.
