Posts: 0 | Problems with FireFox and Non-Permanent Cookies ? on Thursday, June, 01, 2006 7:03 PM
hi
I tried to login into the website with Firefox 1.5.0.3, but failed to do so.
Possible reasons:
1) forums require permanent cookies instead of only session cookies ? (my firefox only accepts session cookies)
2) my AdBlock Plugin (which of course I already temporarly disabled but that did not help)
3) some other reason ?
Hope someone knows about this and can fix it
Regards joda

Compucore
VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!
To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

uhm, that does not matter I guess... it's Windows 2000.
(latest service packs etc., I didn't use proxies or anonymizer.)
Ok, testing the permanent cookie issue:
Firefox with "Delete Cookies once FireFox quits":
Can't log in ... password is accepted but returns to login prompt.
Firefox with exception for "www.tron-sector.com":
works ... Perhaps some coder can take a look at that login system, this should be working with session cookies too.

ok, just to correct the problem stated.
I accidently during testing my own website, disabled all cookies in firefox. So my suggestion is that the website displays an error if cookies are not returned as exspected by the browser. (After the login data is submitted just check for a cookie set by the login page).
Sorry, about the mess.
