I'm sorry, but the Crowd Test video is a joke. He's sitting there describing the unique qualities of each character on the screen while they all run along the exact same way. It looks cheesy.
Admittedly, it's cool that so many characters are there in real-time and the weapon effects are cool, but figthing off a crowd of hundreds of characters doing the exact same thing doesn't get me excited in any way.
Just my .02.

Hehe, yeah, I wasn't too impressed by the crowd test video either... I also laughed when he's in the middle of talking about how "realistic and immersive" it is, but then you see one of the ogre things running ON TOP OF the heads of his brethren But, it is true that the slight randomness of each character does help create believability, in that they aren't following exactly the same pattern or exactly the same motions at the same time, etc. It's all just randomized chaotic order to be more realistic. Just like the wildebeast stampede in the Lion King, or the epic battle scene with all the Gungans in Star Wars: Episode I.
But to see the near-cinematic quality graphics seen in the videos, real-time in a video game, is a beautiful sight. I see some potential problems with polygon-pushing in each video. Notice the background is completely black during the crowdtest video. Or on the Sneak Peek 2 video, you only see one creature at a time. The first creature gets killed, and right then the flying dragon appears, and as soon as he's gone, the big ogre appears to the right. That's some smooth timing there. Makes me wonder what would happen if they were all on the same screen at once.

Thank you!
I watched that thing a few times earlier today, wondering what looked different about them. Sure, if you look closely enough and pay close attention to it - you can kind of see some differences between some of the running characters. But only if you're really looking for it.
What I noticed more was that one (maybe more) of them were running several virtual feet off the ground in the BG. Watch the video clip again and look toward the end - you'll clearly see at least one of these things running well above the round toward the right.
Aside from the fact that these things didn't look very different at all, the clip was pretty cool and they were well animated.
The whole website and project looked very cool. This does seem like it could be an interesting new game...
You know - I always hated the term "game" for these types of games - more accurately put, any modern game. Games are what we played back in the 80's in the arcades. Today's "games" are really more like cyber-experiences or virtual adventures. Well, that's another topic entirely though.

I'm guessing the kind of hardware that I cannot afford.
I only say that because most of today's (within last year) games would not run well on my PC and the games of tomorrow will most certainly not be runable on what I've got.
I LOVE the advancement of technology - it's GREAT and exciting!
I only wish I could afford to keep up with it!
