Hi.
I've never seen The Godfather.
However, I have the opportunity to see it in the theater (big screen) next week. Do I do it? It's part of a big dinner, event, gather, get-together thing. I could see The Godfather at a true, big-screen movie theater. Do you recommend I do it?
Here's the catch: $75 for the evening. BUT! A 7-course meal (GOOD ITALIAN FOOD) accompanies. Normally it would be $150, but because my family went tonight for a great dinner, they offer half-off for next week. This week was at the restaurant; next week is at the theater.
You let me know what you think. I understand that this movie is maybe no longer played ANYWHERE on the big screen any more. Maybe not even anywhere for like 30 years?? I'm good friends with the owner of this Italian restaurant that is hosting this awesome evening. You tell me if I need to see The Godfather on the BIG SCREEN. I know nothing about this film other than I'm sure it's like, you know, Italian mofia stuff. ?? Don't give anything away. Just give me advice.
Sincerely,
Traahn

It's a definate classic. I don't know if I would pay $75 for a dinner and a movie, but you should see it some time.

Godfather, big screen, 7-course italian meal? You even have to ask? Go!
If you promise to be nice to my DVDs I'd loan you my box set of the films.

Awesome! Thanks for the words of wisdom here. I will talk to my brother and sister-in-law and see if they'd like to go. I have a feeling it'd be lots of fun. I'll let you know if I end up going to this event.
And thanks for the offer to see the DVD series there, DaveTRON I will have to decline for now, though. I'm pretty bad at watching movies on my own. It's kinda sad, yet cool at the same time, that the only movie I really ever pop into my DVD player is TRON! Sad, but true! Plus, I still have to see The Godfather in the first place!!

I hope I didn't let The Godfather down by being on the fence with this one for a while.

Okay, I went to this thing and it was awesome! Very well done. Great food, decor and everything. Even got to sample some wines from Francis Ford Coppola Vineyards. Thanks for the advice

Did you enjoy it? I never was into mafia movies. I think the last one I saw was Casino... It was too brutal for my tastes.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it. |

I did enjoy it. I'm also not a big mafia movie fan, typically, but I think the whole ambience and experience made it worth it.
