i saw something on tv a little while ago similar to that. you might've heard about it, but i'm not sure.

aparrently, there's a town somewhere in America [i forgot it's name] that, as well as voting out someone of great importance, i think it was the mayor or something, they also voted god out of their town. considering this place has loads of churches, it's a little strange

i'm not even sure if this was true, i can't remember the name of the program because i was channel hopping. it could also be my extreme gullibility, be that as it may, i thought i should mention it

"Christmas" parties have long been banned from schools in upstate NY. I remember being in 6th grade (early 80's) and the teacher kept telling us that we had to call the party a "holiday party" because they weren't allowed to say "Christmas party" anymore. She was quite annoyed with it as I recall.

In the last decade (probably more) Christmas commercials on TV have been replaced with "holiday" commercials. Even in stores, the store personnel there tell you "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". It's really stupid, but they're not allowed to say the C-word because that is politically incorrect... and banned by store management.

Very stupid.

As I searched for indications that saying "Merry Christmas" was illegal, I could find nothing. I found a handful of stories that talk about many people thinking how stupid it is that "Merry Christmas" can't be said in stores and often in the work place, but nothing indicating that it was declared illegal.

I don't think it's news to anyone that California has some... well, unique laws. But I don't see anything about "Merry Christmas" being illegal there or anywhere else in the USA.

What I did find, that I think is cool, is that some people are trying to restore "Merry Christmas" to the stores during Christmas season.

I'm really not a fan of "ultra-conservative Christian groups" by any means, but I think it is so very stupid that store clerks can't wish you "Merry Christmas" when you are there to buy Christmas presents!

I dont doubt that those people exist, but they do. I heard about a week ago that there are about 22 senators who aren't interested in showing christmas, either that, or they just dont like voting yes to a republican bill.. So, FYI, senate passed a bill protecting christmas symbols. the margin? 410 (close guess) to 22.
