To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I never did have the Vic20. Around that time I still had the TI994A.
However I did get the Commodore64. That was priced moderately at $200, with the disc drive going for $250.
I remember scoring a GONGA deal on the printer from a friend for $50, and then printing all sorts of banners and signs using Print Shop.
There was a modem at the time. I forget how much it went for but I think it was pretty expensive. 300 baud, and hooked up to something called "Geo"-somethingorother, which was the precursor to AOL.

Yeah I remember those. 300 baud modems. Made one hell of a dent when typwing in text only like a dmb terminal. I think I know of a place for making a BBS with a Commodore 64 over ehre. I remember seeing it on the web let me see if I have it here somewhere. (Scrounging around for the software.) Ah ha here we are. Still a lot of rhtem around from A through Z. http://software.bbsdocumentary.com/ If you still have it running there you could use one of the C64 packages that are still downloadable from this plae. I know of one otherprogram tht is for the Windows environment that is for a BBS and for the web. (You can go through the internet and telnet to it basically. Even with high speed internet) Or via the old 56Kmodems there. http://www.synchro.net/

Awesome, Boingo_Buzzard! I had a TI-994A also. I played the game "Parsec" on it quite a bit. I loved that game!

Parsec was the one with the voice, right? I never did own that game but remember it being played as a demo somewhere and being astounded that it had voice synthesis capability. |
