I have just found out about this [in case you're wondering, yes i do live under a rock ]
having read up as much as i can on this movie, and seen the teaser trailer, i have to say i'm a little skeptical about how this might turn out.
anyway, there's a little site, with the bare essentials info-wise.

Hrmm.. yeah. Can be a bit of a toss up here. The trailer was awful. And the available pictures didn't give much of a sense of the "Doom" universe. I am hoping to see some of the old favorites (monster-wise) in there. This could end up being just be a sorry "Aliens" clone.

reasons i am skeptical:
1)the story has been completely rewritten: instead of an experment in teleportation going wrong, opening up a doorway to hell, we have experiments on the human genome [gone wrong?] and creating a load of genetic mutants in the physical style of doom 3 [supposedly]
2) the technique: i personally think it was a bad idea to have people in rubber suits doing the creatures, they would've looked and moved so much better than these hulking great pencil erasers with teeth if they were done with CGI
3)the design: while they are supposedly modelled off the doom 3 monsters [having gone through the trailer frame-by-frame, i have seen a hell knight, and possibly an imp] they look like their flesh is sort of melting off them, the monsters in the game did not have pieces of their body falling off.
the image below from the trailer shows what i mean:

Yeah im very dissapointed in tha fact that they re wrote the story. The original Doom story is awesome.
I think they should've kept the original story....
This looks likes it's gonna be just an action movie.. and not have any creepy or scary aspects to it.
When I first heard they were making a "DOOM" movie i thought it was going to be based on "Doom" not just some action movie that used the "Doom" name.
If Carmack was dead.. im sure he would be rolling in his grave if he knew what they were doing to his masterpiece...

what is even worse are the creatures themselves. I have to call them creatures as they aren't actually demons any more.
they're crap!
seriously. in an age when we have CGI [thankyou, TRON], why the f**k use guys in suits? "it gives a sense of mass and realism" [or something along those lines] according to Dwayne "the rock" Johnson. i mean. you'd think if CGI can go from stuff like TRON, which is pretty good, to the lord of the rings trilogy, even the technology of encasing someone in rubber would've advanced over the past 26 years. [i'm using the first Alien film as an example.] the rubber suit for that film looks better than the ones for this film. these costumes for this "DooM" movie are loosely based on the demons in doom 3. i'll grant that i have seen in the trailer something that vaguely resembles a hellknight [the thing on the game box], but looking a lot thinner, weedier, and a lot more guy-in-a-rubber-suit-ey than the hulking great behemoth that we know and love, and what i presume is the new Imp, at the end of the trailer, in all it's multi-eyed rubberness. this if what angers me the most, what could've potentially been a really good DooM movie. not only have hollywood screwed it up by completely changing the storyline, but they're screwing it up more with the stupid desicion to use rubber suits/animatronics for the whole thing, not a single digital creature in sight. CGI would've offered creatures much more flexability, not to mention the imp's ability to crawl along walls and ceilings.
hollywood has completely ruined the potential for this movie in so many ways. that rant was just one of them.
