I am playing Tron 2.0 on the X-Box and MAN is it buggy. Console freezes, refresh rate problems, pauses, hangs, sound coming in and out... just seems like a pretty bad job on QC if you ask me. Was the PC version this buggy or did they (BVG) just decide to jack around X-Box users?

No, the PC version of the game was not that buggy. In fact, it played pretty smoothly and with very few glitches. I'd get the occasional crash - one moment I'm in the heat of battle in the game, the next moment, I'm looking at my desktop - HATED that! But the PC version was pretty well engineered... except for multi-player online light cycles. That is FULL of glitches and bugs. But it's also a blast to play and very addicting
The XBox version of the game was not quality tested at BVG - they outsourced it to another company (don't know which one). From what I've heard, BVG has made stupid decisions like that part of their standard operating procedure in recent years. Bummer. But then again, there are a lot of once-great companies doing stupid things like that. It's sad they had to allow TRON to be screwed up like that though.
If you have a PC that can handle TRON 2.0, I recommend you get it. It plays well and is a great experience And you can get it dirt cheap now - under $20.00... if you can find it.

I can't say off hand for the Xbox since I don't have one. I might be able to get an xbox used soon enough and check the xbox version of tron 2.0. I think the PC version crashed on me one time though. Like therealtodd mentioned when you in the heat of batle and boom. Your lovely desktop. Mind you I'm on a PIII500 with 256 megs of ram over here. and a 4X SCSI cdrom drive loading it in there. So I can't complain there.

The PC version has its bugs too, but they're nowhere near as bad as the Xbox version. In fact, when I take a look at some of the other recent games that came out (cough, KOTOR 2, cough) Tron 2.0 for the PC almost loooks bug-free in comparison.
I ended up buying the Xbox version, but I haven't really played it since the first time I checked it out. Horrible loading and saving times, sounds and music constantly cutting out, locking up . . . those were the main problems I encountered. BVG's farming out the testing to a third-party, turned out to be a very bad move.
What disappointed me even more, is that you need Xbox Live or a second controller in order to check out the Multiplayer modes. You can't even take a peek at the new modes, by running around on the maps by yourself. Yeah I know, not a fair complaint . . . but I can't even take a peek unless I shell out another $40 bucks? Grumble.

Yeah, the PC version worked very well for me! I don't remember any crashes or bugs. Maybe just once during the entire game is what I remember.
It also had a very smooth framerate for my somewhat basic machine. I had a 64MB nVidia GeForce 2 GTS at the time, I believe. Upgrading to a 128MB BFG/nVidia GeForce FX 5700 Ultra made an already smooth game even smoother. Incredible. Loved the glow effects, too.
Other than that, I'm pretty sure my chip, motherboard and RAM stayed the same between video cards: AMD Athlon XP 2400+, ASUS A7N8X Deluxe, 512 MB RAM.
The game ran nicely before and after the video card swap.
I love not being locked down to the 'frozen in time' hardware of the PS2 and XBOX. I hope future versions of consoles allow for RAM and/or chip speed upgrades, if not other hardware components. I'd be more apt to buy them 3-5 years after they've been in the market if they came out with faster hardware you could add in.

Yeah, but I actually got tired of the whole "now need a new PC and $500 worth of new hardware" thing every time a new game game out. I dropped $200 once on a video card to play Jedi Knight... and then it was instantly obsolete.
The whole PC gaming thing is for those who can afford it. I almost think they are in cahoots to sell more hardware based on new games that come out.
If you can afford to keep up with the constant upgrading that seems to have to happen then that's cool. PC's will ALWAYS blow away consoles.
For me though, I like not having to worry about what I have to upgrade NOW just to play a game I like.

I actually don't upgrade very often. For the $400'ish I almost shelled out for the XBOX when it first came out, I was pretty much able to upgrade my computer's RAM, Mobo, Chip, Power Supply and Video Card. I've used the same awesome 19" ViewSonic PS790 monitor for 9 years now.
I derive much more satisfaction out of the fact that I was able to play Tron 2.0 with crisp, detailed graphics when it came out. Able to play Doom 3, Half-Life 2, Thief 3, Age of Empires III when it comes out, FarCry, etc. without really any issues. I'll slowly have to start bumping down the graphics more and more, but Half-Life 2 with all the textures and stuff turned down would probably still look better than Halo 2 on the XBOX. All this enjoyment for the same $$ I would've spent on the XBOX. Comparing Thief 3 on the PC versus the XBOX is like comparing apples and oranges; though the actual game engine for that game (even on the PC) kind've sucks anyways for both.
Halo 2 for the XBOX looked like a joke to me. I couldn't believe the muddy, cartoony graphics. There's no comparison after being on a PC. Even a PC with modest hardware.
I really don't upgrade my PC very much. Hardly ever, really. Forego two $50 game titles, if you want, and you've now got enough money to upgrade your RAM. If you can build your own PC or know how to upgrade it at will, and research what hardware to buy, you can go a long while without upgrading.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I thought the PC version was very well done and from my experience bug free.
Granted, the multiplayer lightcycles have a few big bugs, but they did say that internet lightcycle was possible but not supported. I've never played it over a LAN so I don't know if the same bugs exist in that situation.
Overall, I was very happy with finished product.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

The lan part might have teh same problems as the interent part. Since they are kind of similar sinc one is inclosed away from the internet itself where as the other is for both lan and internet. Lan is just strictly behind the firewall.

But people playing on a LAN should have much better ping than people playing over the internet. I would think ping-related issues should be almost non-existant.

Maximum ping shold be like 10-20ms the most. If not shorter. Since its all local to the lan. That much I do know even for earlier games like Quake 1-3. PLayed that on my small lan over here.

Hi,
The only gripe I have about the PC version is the speech drops out.. This happens whenever you interact with characters asking questions, and during the cinematic sequences. It can be fixed by turning down the sound acceleration in the DirectX setup (dxdiag) system. I don't know what effect turning down the sound acceleration has on general performance of the game though. Thanks to a recent upgrade I can run in 1600 by 1200 resolution with 4 times antialiasing, with all effects full on. It looks sweet. Shame about the speech sometimes.
Cheers!

Thats kewl. Meanwhile I'll be chuggingaway with my PIII 500 and 356 megs of ram to play with it. Nver had much of a problem overall. Just th ocassional crash an a reboot afterwards. Figured it might be swapping too much from time to time over here.
