I hope this doesn't break any spam rules here, buuut...
Okay, you know that right now I don't have a computer at home. Since they've come out on the scene, I've wanted to get my hands on a Mini Mac. For those of you who know me as a PC guy, that's saying something!
Anyway, I'm sure you've also heard of the Free iPod sites that are out there. I've missed out on those but now there's one for free Mini Macs, and I want to get in on it.
So click on the link and buy something and get yourself on the list for your own free Mini Mac. I admit that it's a scam of sorts that you have to invest in something, but hopefully you'll find something that you can use or want, and that will be cool.
So it's at www.freeminimacs.com, but the link isn't working right now so if you can get on I think it will ask for a referral. Too bad Up here in Canda we don't have something like this. I would like to et something free like that. Even a notebook computer.

I've heard that the Mini Mac (AKA: The Crabapples (It's a cute little nickname that my family and friends use for it)) wasn't all that great. I heard they have lots of glitches or something. They're still cute though and I would just switch over to Macs just because of the cuteness (A folding keyboard and a laptop mouse and it would do fine I guess.....)
Anyways, Compucore, I didn't know you're Canadian. Wow! I guess you learn something new everyday.....

Thanks for your patience, everyone. I know that to ask you to buy something for my benefit isn't easy.
I don't know about any glitches, I guess I'll start reading some reviews. In any event, a new computer is better than none at all.

Yeha I heard abot that not too long ago either looks cute as a button there. But never really heard of any bugs or glitches in it personally. It was on the local technews with the 6 pm news there.

Well.... that's what I've heard from a Mini Mac user. He wasn't too clear on the glitches.... but he did say it was glitchy.

Forgive me, but I don't understand how these kind of companies make money. assumeing they're legit, I just don't get how they can just give away expensive equipment...

Harpo989 maybe they were refirbished machines and couldn't sell them through regular distribution channels and places like those that will give away soemthing like that. Will probably make something a small amount of money through the delivery of it. Maybe they had worked something out with the transport companies who know. If they send through bulk and all that. They get the shipping at a discounted price. And what they probably do is keep the price as is and that's their cmmision for it. I've seen it down when I was working through a telemarketing company up here that had their head office in Arizona. And the made these kinds of deals with UPS, FedEx, and other companies alike.
Thats oen way of doing it.

Advertising.....free ipod worked like a champ so now we have a bunch of new sites based off the same model. It DOES work if you find a reputable site, most of my friends have gotten free ipods through them. The mini macs are amazingly small, but I'd still rather have my good ol' full tower rig, I mean where are you going to fit your raid array in that little thing

IO guess where you advertise for it too. I have seen several for Ipods, Computers and maybe one or two other things. But they are all located for thesates there. I haven't seen one for the Canadian sie at all. It would be nice to see some tru adverst where you can jut pay for the shipping for somethig like that where its more universal. and you get the actual product. Instead of jumping through loop in orde to get it. Shich (And pardon the expression here.) Suck terabyte styles personally. Even if it is a refurbished product. *crosses arms* you might wanna at least wait for the "crabapples" to mature a little bit (Yup..... I'm going to see if I can make that term popular or something. A mini-goal if you will..... ) and perhaps wait for a PC version from some other company. I don't think I wanna make the leap to a mac seeing as they also caused me nothing but trouble all fall-semester long......

My gereral opinion on Macs is this: Nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live with one. Macs just don't strike me as workhorse machines...

Having to live with one for an entire semester, I can totally agree with you there. They didn't seem to handle some of my files all that well.

If you plunk down $4k and get a sweeeet dual g5 rig...I'd take one ! Macs work really well if you load them up with memory, the issue is many schools cut costs their trying to have 'workstation' type machines with only 256 or 512 of memory. Our av lab was like this in hs, when we were finally able to upgrqade the ram in the machines, it felt like night and day. Then again for that kindof money think of the pc you could buy  I'll give apple this, almost all their products are just sexy That mini mac is a great example. The entire footprint of the computer is smaller then the new pico btx boards. Does any one have a picture of the inside of one of these minimacs?

It's really funny.
They're designed to do heavy duty image/video work but if I use it for browsing the internet, it freaks out.
*shakes head*
I guess they're better when it comes to serious graphic design work but doesn't like me too much all the same. :P
(However, I will admit that OS-X is very sweet and nice.)

Well \I do have two ver old mcs over here that I don't use personally and they are kind of cheesy t speak of the original mac 128 and the 512 versions. Didn't lik them too much over here. he only computers that I would usually use is the regular off the shelf built by me pc clones. Or if they are specialized machines like the old Nextstation. or something similar. THen I would use those for specific purposes. Otherwise good old pc works fine for me.
