One of my favourite memories of Tron was when it was first released on VHS in the UK. We rented the movie and I watched it over and over, must have been about 8 or 9 years old then, 1982-3? We had to take it back on the saturday morning so I got up at about 5 or 6 o'clock in the morning and went downstairs when everyone else was asleep and watched it again. I never get up that early unless I'm sick or it's something special. It sounds corny but it was real special, and one of my favourite memories re. Tron. In a nutshell, for me it was just seeing the movie for the first time in the theater. I was 11 years old, and had first heard about this incredible, groundbreaking film in a TV show called "Computers Are People Too". They featured some clips from TRON and talked about the new 3D computer animations utilized in the film. The imagery was too cool as I had never seen anything like it before - the concept of 3D computer animation was mind-blowing cool for me at the time (and still is today where TRON is concerned).
Watching it all in the theater was an experience I'll never forget. I can STILL vividly remember so much of my FIRST viewing! Several key points in the film stick out in my mind from that day so many years ago. No other film has ever branded my mind with THAT many memories from the original screening! The concept of the film, the over the top visuals, glowing circuitry suits, 3D animation of the likes that had NEVER before been seen... THAT is my most endearing memory of TRON - that FIRST viewing.
To this day, I am STILL blown away by this film, and I always kind of watch it through the eyes of my 11 year old self that day.

Watching it for the first time at the age of 10 in 1992. I was totally blown away from the movie when I was watching it on the disney channel. (My mom recorded the movie while I was watching it.)
Ah, there's another good memory... that same year, just near Christmas. There was a Disney ice skating thing... can't remember the title. They had a Tron part in it and I was like "Aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesome. My clothes glow!" For me it was getting the soundtrack on cassette since it was hard to find, here, at the time. I played that cassette over and over and over again and finally wore it out. This was before DVD versions coming out in two months after release, so it was a way for me to "relive" the movie.

I had the Disney Book & Record for Tron before I'd seen the film.
So, I had that (which actually used Wendy Carlos's score and the sound effects from the film) to tide me over until I finally was able to rent the VHS.
When I finally saw it (at 8 years of age) I was just completely blown away by the scope of it! No longer was I confined to the pages of a small booklet. I had a TV full of this computer-generated world and I just couldn't believe that I was finally, TRULY seeing it!
Then, when I got the 20th Anniversary DVD, I was transported back to that day when I finally saw the film in its appropriate widescreen proportions and in surround-sound on a high-def TV!
I love my home theater, but that day I REALLY loved it as I finally saw the ultimate vision of the film.
I think if I ever get to see it on a movie screen, I'd probably cry! Legit! Well, that and Blade Runner and my all-time favorite film, Jaws. I saw Jaws at the drive-in, but I was too little to really get it. I just loved sharks!where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Yes, I am VERY happy with the 20th Anniversary DVD. Someone put a lot of heart and soul into making that DVD for the fans, something you don't always get a sense of.
Blade Runner is also one of my fav films of all time. I am amazed at how well both Tron and Blade Runner hold up when compared to the technology to make special effects these days. I especially appreciated the Director's cut which got rid of that god awful Deckard voice over. It was so un-needed and the film is SO much better without it.
