Greetings Program and welcome to Tron-Sector ! If there was ever a place for a fan such as yourself this is it. I do have a question though. Has anyone recognized you during the day from your TV appearances ("Hey are the the TRONguy from t.v.? Can I please have your autograph then...." ). Just curious....

Welcome Jay. Nice to have you here. Have fun here at Tron-Sector.

Also welcome to Tron-Sector as well Sunnielady.

I could help with graphics, but right now my time is limited. Got too much to do at the moment with classes and assignments.

Todd - It's been a really wild ride. I've done some really neat stuff, as well as some really stupid stuff, but it's all been fun. I've also gotten to meet some really neat folks, in no small part because Dave introduced me to them. I'm having enough fun that I'm trying to use it as a springboard to a performing career.

Timothy - I've only been recognized once on the street out of the costume. Of course, in it, I've been recognized lots of times...

Traahn: That's nice! Excuse me while I snarf. What did you use for the background?

I'll try to get in here as often as I can...

Jay: For the background, do you mean the grid pattern? I hand made that little concoction in PhotoShop. To do it, I made some vertical and horizontal lines, applied a filter or two to it, layered it into my image, messed with the opacity and the such... and voila! LOL, okay, it's a little more technical than that, but does that answer? Do you like it, or would you rather it be completely flat black? If anyone ever asks, let them know a fellow program off in the computer helped create it. Traahn (in the computer), Jeff King (in the real world) hehe

EDIT: I'm not sure if Disney already does this, but it'd be cool if they gave you a handful of Tron 20th Anniversary DVDs to hand out to people when you're all decked out in your Tron costume doing some appearance. It would help publicize Tron.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

I like it, and would like to use it as the site's overall background.

Second technique for grids in Photoshop (For PC):

1. Use the single row select for both veritcal and horrizontal. Everytime you create a new selection, be sure to hold down "Shift." If you don't, you won't be able to create multiple selections.

2. After the selcetions are created, choose the colour you want to use for the inner glow. This colour MUST be light or it's NOT going to work! Get the paint bucket and click inside the selections.

3. Create a new layer and move it below the inner glow on the stack. But whatever you do, DON'T remove the selections! You still need those! Once on that new layer (And still selected) Click modify and then expand. Adjust the amount of pixels you want to expand. Perferably, little is better.

4. Pick another colour darker than the lighter colour. Don't pick something like Navy blue or anything that dark or it won't work. Get the paint bucket again and colour that to. After that, the selections can be removed.

5. Apply the Gaussian Blur filter to both layers (The bottom layer must have more blur than the top)

Grid example: http://www.sheezyart.com/view/55432/
(This was a media poster for class)

I adapted this technique from the Polykarbon Lightsaber technique. ^^

Thanks, Traahn...but I think I'll leave it as is, for now.

I used Kamul's background technique to generate a background grid, and started with your banner and did it as a PNG with a transparent background. (That way, the grid is guaranteed to match up.)

Folks, check out the site...I think it looks a lot better. Thanks to Traahn for lots of inspiring hard work.

Right on, Jay! Oh, I see what what you're saying. I was maybe a little confused before. I thought you were having a difficult time putting a grid in your banner, so I tried to assist Why confused? In checking your site on two different PCs using Internet Explorer, the background of your banner is completely white. The background grid isn't showing through the transparent banner for some reason... Here's a small screenshot of what I see:

For reference, here's the URL to Jay's site:

Grumble. Internet Explorer strikes again. The banner is a .PNG with a transparent background. Guess I'll have to see if it's possible to make it look decent as a transparent GIF...

Jay,

The site is looking much better.

I had a group of people here at BVG roaring over the Halloween clip on the site.

Did they warn you ahead of time that it was a gay event? You looked like you were going to toss your cookies after that one guy kissed you.

I am no prude, but frankly I'd have tossed mine if grabbed in such a manner.

Ah! Yes! The beauty of varying computer screens, resolutions and IE. This is another reason why I'm switching over to FireFox. Anyways, a gif could fix things, but it could also make things worse. Before trying a gif, have you tried just darkening the background? (I'm assuming you're using layers here.) Using levels or Variation could fix things right up.

I'm begining to think here that I should start a Photoshop tutorial site somewhere along the line seeing as I'm giving out quite a few techniques and things from a larger arsenal.... Hm...... *Ponders*
