You change your profile by clicking edit in the upper right of your screen. If you scoll down you have a spot to enter a url for your avatar. You have a few choices now, you can either pull an image off a site (but addresses sometimes change forcing you to change your avitar address) or you can find a service to host your image. Your isp might even offer this service, if not their are several free ones online. A bit of google legwork will turn up TONS. Once you have your image hosted, you can then paste that address in the url spot in your profile. Making your own avitar is definitly a cool way to go, look through a few threads to get some ideas if you are interested in going that route.
