TRON rock opera

on Saturday, May, 22, 2004 1:02 AM
Hi all,
Been a long time since I've been here, whew.
Well, I was wondering if anyone has a recording of Brendon Small's TRON rock opera. I love his music, and have wanted to hear this for quite some time.
Thanks

I hadn't heard about it either. Did a search the moment I spotted this thread. found this. http://www.chrishardwick.com/tron.html

Afraid there's not much info on it though.

I had completely forgotten about this. I had heard that Brendon had canned it to because Cartoon Network was putting the rush on him and the rest of his cast for the latest seasons of Home Movies. Wow, I wonder how it went. I totally love Home Movies and he has mentioned Tron at least once to my knowledge in an episode. So, again wow, I hope he tries to keep the show going cause I totally spaced on it.

I guess he performed it at a nightclub of sorts and people said it went really well. Now that Home Movies is done, perhaps he can put the song on his website, along with the other show songs

hello, people.
we only performed it 4 or 5 times, and i was never able to get a good recording. Brendon decided he wanted to write his own version for Cartoon Network, so it went away. i was sad. i really loved this goddamned rock opera. i did, however, put up the only version i had. the sound is chewy and the performance is not amazing, but we barely ever did it, so i guess it's as good as can be expected for a 12-minute rock opera that you only rehearsed a few times. Brendon wrote most of the music(and it was his idea to do it in the first place), I wrote most of the lyrics, Mike Phirman wrote some of the music and some of the lyrics, and Lee Farber filled in the drums. i hope you derive even a morsel of entertainment from this:

That was cooler than I expected Chris! I wish I could have caught the show. Man, work is killing my entertainment life.
