Hi
i was wondering if there was a way to buy or
customize a computer
similar to the one dillenger has in his office in
Tron
not as big
but a flat black comuter with a keyboard
where you just touch the keys
kind of like the computers they
have at Citi Bank where i get my cash from...
so is there a place i can a computer like this or make one..?
man becuase i really want one lol

You want to type on a glass panel??? It'll kill your fingers and your typing will go to hell, that's for sure.

I thought about this too once (I have a whole history of stuff like this).
The obvious way to do it would be to use a touchscreen (just like you get on PDAs, but for a monitor). You can buy them seperately - last time I checked they were pretty expensive, but you could find them on Ebay for a decent price. You can also buy CRT and LCD monitors with integrated touch screens.
The screens act like mice (ie. you can touch icons etc). Of course if you want to do something interesting (eg. an onscreen keyboard), you'll need to find some software, or write some, that does what you want.

Well he could get one of those soft touch keyboards something similar to like on of the Atari 800 consoles had a long time ago. And I know that it was a killer on the fingers. But to have something like a tft screen behind glass or something like a regular monitor underneath the table top did exists one point in time. I rmember seein git though.

Oh yeah I think they needed to buy it by the truck load just to keep that thing clean on the set there. I remember seeing a long time ago. Probably some where in the 80's or 90's) Something similar to what you had mentioned. But and this i a but. THe monitor actually sat on a ledge underneath the glss top.
And for the life of me I cannot think of where I had seen it though. With the exception of tron. But it didn't have the mounted panel keyboard there.. I know it did exist at one point. Jut can't remember where though. Maybe it was a fade thing at the time when computers came out.
side note: Here is something that is similar but very very small in comparison of the actual terminal that Dillinger had.

Another option is one of those virual keyboards, this shipping May and I've yet to read a bad thing about it.
