TO kick things off - if you've forgotten how to get into the members pages . . . login with [REMOVED] and password is [REMOVED] - all lower case letters.
It's all over. The Spring League and final Tournament was a lot of fun. Of course some of you are saying that I should be smiling since I walked away with a trophy. Let me tell you that Steve R. was really wanting that bad and after all the trash talk, I had to play my best games. Heck, he almost got it anyway after the first lashing he gave me.
OK - for all of you that didn't participate and some of the other long distance members . . we had a great time. I encourage all of you to seriously think about starting your own organization - NIPPA - for North Illinois, CIPPA for Central IL, and we'll get together and have our top 3 play your top 3 or better yet, we'll being everyone together and play for a NIB machine. Sound good? It could happen in a few years! If any of you all would like to talk about it, drop me a line and I'll be glad to help where I can.
UPDATES - the web site is all updates, the Spring 04 stuff is moved to an archive and I've added a few pictures. Ken, if you get time, please e-mail me those pictures you took at Herrin Bowl and I'll post them up too.
Sept. show is going to be a go unless something tragic happens. I'm planning on checking out the place this week sometime. Lanningham Auctions (Rodney) is willing to help us out in the event that we decide to promote an auction. He'll do it for free. We'll begin to advertise sometime in June. That'll allow us some time to hone out some ideas.
Other news:
Check out all the coolest pictures and information on the new Ripley's Believe it or not pinball at www.pinballnews.com . This is a European site and it makes sense for them to have the latest since all new production machines go there first.
Superauctions is going to have an arcade auction at the Belleville fairgrounds near St. Louis this weekend. Obviously I won't be able to attend but Steve R. and Steve H. are planning to go. I've been told to have me cell phone on all day to give them a hand. If anyone else is going, why not drop them a line also and meet up? I'll be slaving away on the pinball shop / barn - that's 1st priority right now for me.
I'm thinking of doing some SIPPA T-Shirts. What do you think of the cheesy logo on the page these days? If you have ideas, drop me a line. Even better, send me some cool art.
FINALLY, please welcome a new addition to the mailing list. From Springfield is Kerry McCombs, he owns a Fathom (great machine!) and appears to like some of the earlier SS machines. We would love to see you (and everyone long
distance) come down for a pinball show.
That's it - see you next time!
-Rob Craig
