Not a fun thing to consider. I remember when rumorsa of reinstating the draft back in 91 as a result of "Operation Desert Storm" - I was 21, not in college and was really worried about it. Granted they had to hit all the 18-20 year olds before I got a not from Uncle Sam, but it still made me nervous.
Personally, I believe the draft is something that no longer works. There are people who are willing to join the services voluntarily (And I applaud them) and there are those who don't for whatever reasons they have.
Wow...I'm starting to get a bit political so I'm stopping here

I'm not sure, either. I don't think it's ALL bad...but that may be due to my age and previous disqualification from military service. My opinion might change if I was one of the people who could be drafted.
With or without the draft though, I don't think it can be argued that the U.S. is in for some big changes. Some we may not be so fond of...

I don't know about the validity of this report. Not that the reporter is not writing in earnest, it's that this kind of thing would be highly reported in our media as well (think of the ammo that it would be against Bush). Also, we've got the manpower already, IIRC.
As with all things, we will have to wait and see. As Heinlein said: "If a country can't save itself through the volunteer service of its own free people, then I say: Let the damned thing go down the drain!"order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill
Come on, you scuzzy data, be in there.

hmm... yes, Scuzzy, that's true. It makes sense to me that such a thing would be well covered by the press. (unless they were told not to... but that's getting into conpiracy theries) as for me, I likely could not join even if I was drafted...
however, without getting too much into politics, this seems like it may just do more harm then good, in the sense that patriotisim seems to be low in the US (just by my observations, maybe not true) and I doubt drafting would help. but this could be much ado about nothing. it seems to me that I shouldn't even worry until I see more evidance.
anyway, just me thoughts.
off topic: finished watching Stargate season 5 today. poor Jackson! (of course I know what happens...)

Forget draft! I'd volunteer. If it helps keep America and Americans free, I would risk my life as so many of the brave men and women before us.
