perhaps there ought to have been a deep shade of magenta (purple), for those who neither opposed or fought for Tron or Sark. I know that the concept of good and evil is one that i myself do not feel that there are any clear distinctions between the two that make either any better than the others.
what is our main purpose?

From what I understand, the programs with a red body and yellow lines fight for their user, so there should be an option to fight for your user.

From what I've seen, I don't think color is a clear distinction of who someone serves. If not based on the film, then definitely the game.
(maybe this was just poor coloring) But what about the green programs who drove the tanks - they worked for Sark but obviously weren't red, they were blue-green.
The ICP's are User-believing, yet they are red.
Then the resource hogs are blue but are evidently quite nasty and not serving the Users.
I think the coloring might have a more subtle meaning, such as what language they were written in, or their primary function (rather than indicating alignment, red might simply mean soldier). Well, you gotta remember that when they colored those scenes they were oriinally going to have the good characters in gold and the ad ones in blue. Then right in the middle of production they decided to change the good characters color blue and the bad ones red. They couldn't go back and recolor those scenes cause of the time and extera cost it would take.
Even if your red you can believe in the Users. Sark believed in the Users. He did get really nervous when the MCP told him he was sending a User for him to take care of on the game grid. Or perhaps the actualy existence of Users was intended to be kept a secret only known to a few elite personnel who need to know about them, ie anyone close to the MCP who might have to deal with Users to help him take over everything. So Sark could completely believe and accept it, but was required to tell everyone else that it was false. But in any event, yes I agree.. red certainly does not mean infidelity.
