I recently came across a few players that think blocking is cheap, i personally do not think this, so i was wondering what the rest of us feel about this.
I'm not talking about people that block and never shoot back (which is cheap, annoying, and counterable) i'm talking about defensive players, those that dont just bunny hop and throw as soon as the disc comes back but actually choose their shots and use blocking to open the opponent.
what are your feelings about the notorious BLOCK?

Its part of the game. Those that jsut sit and block during MP deserve the smackdown they will get
Those that use it as part of the overall game are playing as they should.

I can only assume that Blocking is going to be the equivalent of Camping (although it's argued that camping is akin to sniping in real war, so it's legit. Anyway...).
Come on, you scuzzy data, be in there.

Actually, the constant blockers are pretty easy to take out, usually because usually just stand there and block without moving. A boomerang shot or simply a well-timed disc will take them out.
Everyone has a different strategy. As I've said before, forty-year-old guys like me have to rely on stealth, cunning and patience rather than hummingbird reflexes (which is also why I prefer disc combat to lightcycle racing).

Well put. While I'm not 40 yet and have about 6 years to reach that exalted state, my reflexes and reaction speed have already slowed a bit.
So now I generally try to stalk my foe and strike from the shadows as it were.
On Many an FPS game in MP I tend to snipe. Its amazing how many people whine and cry about something that is part of the game. If an FPS provides weapons with sniper scopes that allow you to zoom in on the target, then guess what? Sniping is allowed. Deal with it.
As to the repetitive blockers, I nice richochet disc that hits them from behind is a beautiful site to see

ahhhhh i never connected blocking w/ sniping (which i think is not cheap as long as it isnt excessive)
and i bet that the people i was talking to think sniping is cheap too......so this will be one of those debates that never ends abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion Particle Man |

it just depends really if you just stand there and dont move and just block all the time then yeah thats cheap. But if your constantly moving and blocking then thats not so bad because atleast your doing someting but just standing there blocking is lame

lol...
there seems to be a debate like this on every FP game message board.
I only have a couple things to say about people that stand around and block...
ricochet shot.
boomerang shot.
and the Wile E. Coyote effect (aka ...Oh my User, where did the floor go?)

When the fear of being struck by my disc invades your dreams, steal it. Leave me defenseless and paw at me like the coward you are. Rob me of the flurry of attacks I rain down upon you like a category five hurricane and strike from the shadows. Yours, dear friend, is the mark of cowardice. Thy game is weak.
You want to learn to play the game like a champion? Take example from "Ram", the player your clan attempted to scoop up after I praised him for his exceptional ability in the arenas. Evidently my opinion, an S9 opinion, holds a fairly clear influence over the actions of your clan. How's that for power?
You haven't responded to my request for a one on one match. I'm still waiting to make an example of you for all the world to see. When you step to me with your big mouth and I back you into a corner, please don't flee. Fight.
So, when and where?

Um, excuse me, but Ram emailed me asking if he could join, but ended up joining another clan when I took too long responding to his email.

Ram joined that other clan for precisely the same reason. The attention I showered on him perked the ears of that clan up too. You know, I should quit recruiting players for other clans. Doesn't help my cause any.
At any rate, remind Particle Man I want at him. If he refuses or fails to respond, it will only reconfirm my observations that he's a coward. Thus far it seems he'll be doing both, but I didn't want to influence his opinion any. He's got a big mouth, and I'm dying to teach him how samurai play the game. I'm not going to let up on him until he either addresses my request for a match or disappears.

Well I got my daily dose of soaps...ugh
When I get my retail copy I'll play anyone who wants a match, atleast that i can find time for. Not saying I'll beat everyone, some of you guys are going to wipe the floor with me
Back to topic, I think that if a person just sits and blocks all the time just aim for their knees and make them regret not doing anything. I like the comparsion to camping, I kind of agree. I think blocking can be comical. And enjoy to kill people with a good block.

And let it be known that I didn't have a friggin' clue who Ram was until he emailed me. I really couldn't care any less about your opinion of other players. I only recruit players I see in action myself.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion The Clu abides, man...

Blocking skillfully is part of the game. Standing there holding the block button is cheap and stupid.
