Hello Tron-Sector forum members. Those of us with the extreme luck to partipate in the limited public beta test of Tron 2.0 have just received the green light to share our thoughts on the game. The flood gates aren't open mind you, but there is a crack in the dam. I and hopefully others from the test will be sharing what made us enjoy Tron 2.0.
-----
UPDATE: The beta testers can now answer most questions that you may have regarding the game (though not every question - and we will not divulge any major spoilers).
-----
For the time being, I just want to share these few words that came to mind after I played through the game for the first time.
There is a pervading feeling of awe and wonderment that greets me at the beginning of each level - and not just regarding graphics. I have not so clearly enjoyed a game in the sense that I have enjoyed Tron 2.0 for quite some time. There is an intangible element shared by a rare few games that elevate them beyond being just well done and enjoyable to something that's truly 'fun.' An indescribable sense of joy - that in my experience manifests itself as a grin. Yes, a grin. Sure in every good game I'll come across a moment that will make me laugh or generate some dialouge along the lines of "hey, that was pretty cool," but most of the time I sit straight faced, feeling the enjoyment almost peripherally. With Tron 2.0 (and a select few other games), I sit, smiling like an idiot at nothing. I could be doing the most mundane task in the game, but there I sit with a smile; no quips on some goofy effect or some half second of jubilation, just a pervading happiness that I am not keen to shed. Ahh, I don't know maybe it's just me, maybe not, but I do know that Tron 2.0 is one heck of a solid and enjoyable game and deserves much acclaim.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I was wondering when you guys would be able to talk about the beta test. Cool. (Lucky sods. *Grumble*. j/k )
I guess my biggest question, if you can answer it, is how long do you think it will take the average player, to complete the game? (Provided you had a test build with all the levels?) Is a long game, like I think it is? Since it's about 30 levels, I'd imagine so.
I don't know if you've played NOLF 1 (also from Monolith, of course), but that was one heck of a long game, and I loved every minute of it. On the other hand, I'd say NOLF 2 was about 1/3 to 1/2 the length of NOLF 1.
So in terms of those two games, how does 's length compare?
Oh, and is there a LOT of humor, as is traditional with Monolith titles? Or not so much?
Thanks for any answers you can provide.

Oh! Ooh! Me! Meee! I want to answer this one!!!
The amount of time you invest in the game will determine now long it will be. Crypitic, huh? As you know you can blow through the game in about 20 hours if you just race right through, but what's the fun in that?? No, you and the rest of us are going to go through and apreciate everything that's there and sneak around and take in all the sights and sounds. You can very easily stretch this game to 30-40 hours. Nevermind the multiplayer.
As for the humor, be prepaired to laugh. Also, don't forget all the in-jokes and movie references.

Concerning game length:
Honestly, I was just enjoying the game and I wasn't timing it. Suffice it to say, there's a lot of playtime in the game. It took me about a full week to beat the game playing it for at least 2 hours and sometimes as much as 6 hours a day.
I think Scuzzy's estimates are pretty good, though 40 hours may be pushing it. However, it is definitely one of the longer shooters out there. I'd venture to say it's a bit longer than Half-Life, and it's definitely longer than NOLF 2.
At any rate, I was pleasantly surprised by it's length compared to some of the modern shooters where you blink and miss the game (*cough* Unreal 2 *cough*). Additionally, though it is a long game, nothing feels repeated. Each and every level feels and plays distinctly and by the end of the game you've experienced a wealth of different missions and play styles.
Humor: There definitely is some humor, but I wouldn't say there's a LOT of humor. Much of it is the more subtle stuff that Suzzy mentions, in-jokes and references to the movie. There's a few laugh out loud moments, but it's not like NOLF - nor should it be really. I think the level of humor in the game right now is appropriate and anything more would be out of place.

Well, my estimate is based on a heckova lot of restarts becasue I suck at FPS', especially jumping puzzles.
Speaking of which, is such a good game that, despite me sucking at it, I plug away and keep going because I want to see what's next. And like SteveDroid said, there is a whole lot to see and sometimes you'll get distracted. But that's a good thing.
I said this in another post but I will reiterate: this game is a true return to the Digital World, short of being digitized yourself.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Exceeeellent!
I'm also the type of player that likes to check out every nook and cranny of a game . . . and will particularly be a game where there's going to be so much to see and explore. I'm giddy with excitement.
Oh, and if it's a bit longer than Half-Life, then I would definitely consider a long game. I think it took me about a week to finish HL, if I remember right.

Hmm, as long as it has the same level of humor as the film, I'll be happy.

!EXTREMELY MINOR SPOILER!
Heh, well there are hidden items in the game, but they're definitely not in the form of Mickey.
If you played the SP demo, you're probably familier with the Build Nodes (orange spinny things) that increase your version rating. These are Tron 2.0's hidden items and it's not a big spoiler to say that there are 100! scattered throughout the game - since the number of nodes you've collected is displayed as xxx/100 in the character screen.
It took me a while, but I found all 100, looking and listening for them was actually fun.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online -----------

Yup, guess I just have 1337 searching skillz Heh, actually I think it's because Tron 2.0's way of hiding objects is better than other games. Though the nodes are well hidden within the nooks and crannies of the level, there's none of that "the item is hidden behind an arbitrary destructable wall, so you have to shoot everything in the level to find it" crap.
In games when searching for hidden items there's a fine line between fun and mind-numbing tedium, Tron 2.0 is well on the fun side of that line. (Other recent fps games are not *cough* Elite Force 2 *cough*). -----------

Sorry I've been out of the loop a bit. Family reunion ect. Anyways, I have to agree with a lot of what stevedroid said. I truely enjoyed the game. Not simple beacuse it has tron stuck on it, but that fact that its actually FUN to play. If you enjoyed NOLF you will definitly like tron 2.0. I thought the game was well balanced throughout. It played smoothly and there never really felt to be any holes in the story. I found the difficulty to be in a sweet spot, I do play a lot of fps's, but i think that anyone can pick this up and do okay, some of the latter lvl's might be a little frustrating but its all for the best. The demo's dont do justice to the game, the latter lvl's are fantastic! Is it a title that will change gaming as we know it? No. But its a lot of fun to play, and for the first title of a studio I'm VERY impressed. Their will be people that dont enjoy this game, but thats true with every game. I think that this will help tron's image as a whole, and maybe convert some people into being tron fans, it has the potential.

This is quite true. The quality of the levels, both in terms of art and fun seems to increase exponentially as the game progresses. It's very cool how the design continually ramps up for the duration of the game. This is one of the reasons why you never get board with the game, it keeps getting better and better. It's probably the only shooter I can think of that has this trait. With most games they ramp up early in terms of showing all the amazing design and graphics stuff first and then having gameplay try to sustain your interest for the remainder of the game. Tron 2.0 is not only sustained by gameplay but continues to improve from a design standpoint so that you always have something to look at and aren't just worried about shooting the enemies and getting to the next level.
The demo is nothing. As cool as though 2 levels are, they are crap compared to the awsome stuff in the rest of the game. -----------
