If you need something to distract you from current events, and I fear you do, the TRON:Ares game tie-in demo is available on Steam.
From a reviewer I trust:
"I finished the TRON: Catalyst (June 17) demo, and it's promising (no surprise from

).
An action-adventure game with a strong narrative component that really interests me. And time loops! Groundhog Day in Tron to solve puzzles? I'm in.
Plus, you can ride a light cycle. ??"
Screengrabs on his Bluesky post.

Thanks for reminding. Looked it over again, and it's still a hard pass for me, just like that one narrative storybook one (TRON: Identify?) was, unfortunately. Looks to me like a bare minimum budget type of Tron game again. I'll keep waiting for a bigger budget FPS campaign Tron game in the spirit of, say, Tron 2.0. And one with enough of a budget to look and be good, but not so big budget that it has to do all the AAA gaming tropes to recoup and justify its huge budget. Hoping Tron: Ares does well in the box office to help propel a real Tron game where we can explore the universe in an adventure.
I want to experience the Tron world at a much deeper level than parkour and hack-and-slash disc gamey battles. I don't want to feel like I should put a quarter into my PC every time I play a Tron game.
Tron movies aren't reduced to simplistic action for 2 hours with no engaging story, adventure, or exploration. And they wouldn't even want to do that. So why are the games pretty much that, I wonder, for much longer than a movie

I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Hey Traahn! I've missed ya'll. I played both Catalyst and Identity. They're both fun in their own unique ways and I love the story and characters. The only problem was they were way too short!
I hear ya. I'm still hoping for a new fps as well. ;-;
//(I'm too lazy to attempt to make anything myself. I have zero energy or time, only hope.)
Well...Ares is out. I hope some folks meander back here again so we can chat.
See you on the game grid some time. We can always duke it out in the custom maps.
I'm cold and calculating. Don't press my buttons.
