 Why does E.T. 30th Anniversary get a nationwide Fathom event and TRON is left in the cold?

Why does E.T. 30th Anniversary get a nationwide Fathom event and TRON is left in the cold?

It's the damn 30th Anniversary of TRON, why isn't there a 1 day nationwide event celebrating and promoting the movie franchise? Isn't this an easy no brainer to keep TRON in the public's consciousness?

At this point in my life I'd be way more tempted to go see a screening of TRON than E.T. on the big screen. Blade Runner's which is also celebrating its 30th has been re-released a couple of times. Where the hell is Disney on this? Doesn't make any sense.

errm, isn't it pretty obvious? Unless you're living under a rock, this movie grossed Much more moola. You have to remember that TRON is more of a cult classic or whatever the heck you want to call it nowadays just like blade runner. Besides, the tron 30th is already going on this month.

Wow, I didn't even know E.T. was having a 1 day release. Guess I missed it....that would have been cool to see it again on the big screen.

But yeah, as Daft Tron said...E.T. grossed a ton and more people, especially families are more apt to go and see it.

Considering the Tron 30th Event at the Chinese Theater tho..I think the Tron event is BIGGER since it will have the Cast and Filmakers as well as a party and other cool things making it TRULY a once in a lifetime event for Tron fans. If I still have vacation time to use I would so fly out there for two days just to attend!!

Also because ET is a family movie and kids of the 80's would like their kids to see it. Movie distributors know that and money talks.

For kids of today they have TRON Legacy and the cartoon.
