Well it seems there's only 1 server for Derez Match, and it's ping is very very high like 300-450 ping for me, I seemed fine in the retail map with no lag (despite the high ping I had)
and then the map switced weird crap happened....
in SpyDave's SECTOR map is messed up for me, I log in and I can't run or walk or jump, all I can do is turn on my axis, switch weps, crouch and lean left and right.
The enviroment seems to be running normally and my characters animations are fine. There are a few bugs in the game, if for instance someone was on the server, and didn't have a map in the server rotation it will freeze the map loaded in the server. most likely.
There is a countdown bug in the server which counts down from some huge number, like 70000. I don't know what triggers this, and it's very unusual.
The other cause could be if a new player doesn't press F1 to join a team in Team Derez.

yeah in team derez, you need another player to join before you can run around and start playing. until then, just sit on your thumbs 
and the weird crap after the map switching is probable you being kicked from the server because you didnt have the custom map it was about to host
